The concept of counterfeit electronic components, materials and assemblies is not a new phenomenon. However, global trade of counterfeit components has recently increased markedly. There are numerous standards and policies to deal with the issue and recently QMS standards are beginning to include this as a requirement for validating a component’s authenticity. Nextek has always been in compliance with the requirement to only use components whose authenticity can be verified.
